What works from the island
The island holds a PreToolUse card when the tool changes something, and when the tool is ask_user_question. exit_plan_mode is not a card. The question is answered on the island. The older ~/.grok/config.toml block is written only when the app setting grokHookLocation is config-toml.

How it connects
Setup finds Grok CLI and Connect writes ~/.grok/hooks/pet-island.json. Connect writes the file. The agent process that is already open does not load it. Start that agent again. The app can show a restart link for this one.

How to check it works
After Connect, that file is on disk. Ask Grok CLI to do the action named above. A card agent shows the request on the island. A status agent shows its state, and Jump opens the agent.

Troubleshooting
If the file is missing, run Connect again from the app. If the agent was already open and this page says to start it again, close it and open it once. Disconnect in the app removes the hook Pet Island wrote.
