    What works from the island

    The island holds a card for PermissionRequest. The documented question tool ask_user is answered on the island. VS Code agent mode also reads PreToolUse from ~/.claude/settings.json.

    How it connects

    Setup finds GitHub Copilot and Connect writes ~/.copilot/hooks/pet-island.json. Connect writes the file. The agent process that is already open does not load it. Start that agent again. The app can show a restart link for this one.

    How to check it works

    After Connect, that file is on disk. Ask GitHub Copilot to do the action named above. A card agent shows the request on the island. A status agent shows its state, and Jump opens the agent.

    Troubleshooting

    If the file is missing, run Connect again from the app. If the agent was already open and this page says to start it again, close it and open it once. Disconnect in the app removes the hook Pet Island wrote.
